American Airlines is introducing new equipment kits today, but they don’t look all that exciting if you ask me. New equipment kits from Shinola and DS & DurgaThanks to a new partnership with Shinola and DS & Durga, American Airlines is introducing new onboard equipment kits for premium cabin customers:
There are different kits depending on whether you are traveling in First Class, Business Class or Premium Economy and whether you are on a long-haul or premium transcontinental flight. Here is the international first-class equipment set that is exclusively available in the 777-300ER First Class on long-haul flights: Here is the equipment kit for the international Business Class and the Transcon First Class (exclusively for A321Ts): Here is the international Premium Economy and Transcon Business Class equipment kit: These new equipment kits will be introduced on flights between the US and London starting today and should be rolled out throughout the summer for more international and transcontinental long-haul flights. I have to be honest, I don’t know a lot about any of the brands American works with here other than DS & Durga also sell toiletries for Thompson hotels. To me, the kits look rather inconspicuous as such. When I was a teenager, I collected airline trim kits and loved them so much, although personally I have a hard time getting excited about them these days:
American Airlines limited edition watchesHere’s something some aviation freaks might like. As an extension of the partnership between American Airlines and Shinola, a limited edition table clock is being created with a dial made entirely from a retired MD-80 airplane. There are a total of 1,000 for sale and they sell for $ 395 each. There are two possibilities: It’s hands down a cool concept for Avgeeks, although at this point a desk clock is about as useful to me as a fax machine or pager, so I’ll pass. Bottom lineAmerican Airlines has introduced new equipment kits thanks to a new collaboration with Shinola and DS & Durga. While these are brands that some people seem to like, I find the kits uninspiring as such. On the other hand, I generally find trim kits a bit wasteful so I’m not terribly invested in one way or another. What do you think of the new American Airlines equipment kits? And does someone pick up an MD-80 table clock? Via https://globalconnekt.com/american-airlines-introduces-new-equipment-kits/
